In recent years the field of cosmetic plastic surgery has seen a lot of interesting developments. The laser cosmetic plastic surgery, has replaced “go under the knife” in many cases, the lifts are often faced that can be done now, without cutting the skin, which reduces scarring. These developments are welcome, since less-invasive cosmetic plastic surgery means using less anesthesia, and decreases the risk of infections after surgery. Hospital stays can be reduced or excluded altogether. Apart from the advances in cosmetic plastic surgery procedures that makes it easier, there have been advances that make certain types of cosmetic plastic surgery available, when they were not before. A relatively new substance called “Artecoll” has been used in Europe and is beginning to be used in the United States. Artecoll is a combination of collagen and microscopic beads that is injected into the body, usually the face, which smooths wrinkles. When the initial collagen is absorbed by the body, the balls are a trigger mechanism that induces the body to produce more collagen, which makes it more of a permanent rather than a temporary solution for wrinkles. The “Brazos lifts” are to eliminate excess fat and skin of the upper arm area, used to mean a lot of unsightly scars. Today the fat can be removed using liposuction arm, which calls for only a very small incisions in the armpit, and excess skin can be pulled toward the shoulder. The location of the incisions means that any scar will be barely perceptible, to do much better results. Advances in cosmetic plastic surgery mean that more people can take advantage of it has to offer, with less risk.
