There are various techniques of operation of myopia, the most famous remaining laser.
Again several type of laser can be used, the excimer laser and laser Lasik, among others.
Both aim to flatten the cornea and are recommended for moderate myopia ie below -10 diopters. The operation is quick because it takes a few minutes per eye but can induce pain relatively large (as patients) after surgery.
As an indication, the excimer laser will only on the surface of the cornea, while the second cut a layer of the cornea to be restored at the end of the intervention.

The second technique for correcting myopia is the intra-ocular implant. This is a lens placed inside the eye through surgery in order to allow a clear vision without having to wear glasses. The lens can be placed in front, behind the iris or instead of the lens. The implant will be monitored regularly, knowing that some patients do not tolerate.
It opts for the intra-ocular implant to correct high myopia (more than – 10 diopter), where the laser can be used. Namely, the implant can also correct farsightedness combined with presbyopia, as well as myopia combined with presbyopia.

In which case it was using the intervention?

To use the myopia surgery must be aged over 18 years (even 20 years for certain specialists) and it takes more than myopia is fully stabilized so the vision must be stabilized for more than 2 years (ie, myopia can do to stabilize around 28/30 years). Specialists may refuse to treat a “too” low myopia (between -1 and -3 diopter).

The intervention involves certain risks to be low, about 0.2% of transactions are experiencing complications, complications can range from a tendency to glare at the lower eyelid or even to a loss of partial or total.

Namely, the operation of myopia is relatively expensive because it takes about 1000 euros per eye and is not reimbursed by insurance, seen as a comfort.
